5 Apples
1/2 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Brandy
50g Butter
1 Sheet Puff Pastry
Preheat the oven to 375F.
Peel, core and halve the apples. Put sugar and brandy in an oven proof skillet and heat until mixed and bubbling. Add the apples and stir to coatwith the suace. Cook for 5 minutes or until the apples start to soften. Take the pan off the heat and add the butter in small cubes around the skillet. Make sure all of the apples are laying round side up.
Lay out the puff pastry sheet over the apples and tuck in the edges around the skillet. This can look quite rough as it is a nice rustic dish.
Stick this in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until the puff pastry is golden.
Take the skillet out of the oven and let sit for 5 minutes.
Turn out onto a large platter. Do this quickly and confidently to make sure none of the juices run!
Serve hot with vanilla ice cream or creme fraiche.
